Jimmy Webb - The Glen Campbell Years

Still on the Line

Venue: Cadogan Hall

With support: Romeo from The Magic Numbers and Ren Harvieu.

Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Webb has topped the charts with hits across genres for the last five decades – pop, country and disco – with songs including MacArthur Park, Up, Up and Away, All I Know, Didn’t We, Highwayman and Worst That Could Happen, and artists ranging from Richard Harris to Frank Sinatra to Linda Ronstadt and Art Garfunkel. Perhaps the most enduring partnership is his musical brotherhood with Glen Campbell which produced hits Wichita Lineman, By the Time I Get to Phoenix and Galveston – just for starters.

Jimmy Webb: The Glen Campbell Years celebrates this friendship and the 80+ recordings from the Webb/Campbell songbook. With his trademark humour and storytelling, Webb shares anecdotes about his collaborations with Campbell, revealing the personal side to generational touchstones like Honey Come Back.

Gorgeous photos and video, and emotional virtual duets with a recorded Glen Campbell demonstrate the singular talents of these two pop icons and the indelible mark their symbiotic craftsmanship made on American music – and all over the world. Campbell and Webb are ‘Still on the Line’.

Romeo Stodart of London’s much loved brother/sister harmony rock ‘n’ roll combo The Magic Numbers teams up with Salford singing sensation Ren Harvieu for a rare performance comprising material from their respective back catalogues, debuting absolute gems from their recent songwriting partnership and a few interesting reinterpretations of some choice classics. This is a unique show not to be missed.
